(SPOILER ALERT) Perché il finale di Capitan America ha lasciato molti fan con l’amaro in bocca

Come la Marvel ha affrontato la fine della storia di Steve Rogers

Avengers: Endgame, il 22esimo film dei Marvel Studios, è uscito nelle sale italiane il 24 aprile.

Il film ha concluso gli archi narrativi dei sei vendicatori originali, dopo più di dieci anni dall’uscita di Iron Man, quindi è stato uno dei film più aspettati del Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Questo articolo analizzerà il finale di Capitan America, perciò se non avete ancora visto il film considerate questo il vostro “spoiler alert”.

Steve Rogers ha deciso di rimanere nel passato per poter spendere la vita con Peggy Carter, il suo amore del periodo della guerra.

Nonostante sia un finale dolce e strappalacrime, molti fan del capitano a stelle e strisce non sono per niente soddisfatti, come dimostrano i centinaia di tweet con l’hashtag #NotMySteve.

Dopo aver letto numerosi tweet e post di Instagram sull’argomento, risultano tre motivi principali.

 

1 ) Il problema del paradosso temporale

Nel film viene ripetuto più volte come si debba evitare a tutti i costi di creare altre linee temporali. Con la scelta di Steve, si viene a creare una linea temporale in cui la direttrice dello S.H.I.E.L.D non ha mai sposato il marito (di cui noi non conosciamo l’identità) e non ha mai avuto i figli con lui. Infatti, come confermato nel film Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Peggy nel 1953 era già sposata con uno dei soldati salvati da Steve nel primo film di Capitan America.

In questo modo si è creata una linea temporale alternativa in cui Peggy non si è mai sposata e non ha mai avuto figli, ma in cui suo marito è Steve.

Inoltre, in quella linea temporale esistono contemporaneamente due Steve Rogers: quello che sta vivendo la sua vita con Peggy e quello che è congelato nell’Artico.

In più, lo Steve del futuro che è tornato nel passato è a conoscenza di informazioni essenziali di cui Peggy non è al corrente. Tra cui, ad esempio, il fatto che lo S.H.I.E.L.D. è infestato dall’Hydra e che i genitori di Tony Stark verranno uccisi nel 1991 dal Soldato d’Inverno.

 

2 ) La relazione con Bucky

Lo Steve Rogers di Avengers: Endgame ha praticamente abbandonato il suo amico di lunghissima data, Bucky Barnes, in un mondo in cui lui è l’unico uomo fuori dal tempo.

È sembrata un po’ incoerente la decisione di Steve, visto come il rapporto tra i due uomini sia stato coltivato nella trilogia di Capitan America, specialmente nel secondo e terzo film della saga.

Abbiamo visto Steve combattere i suoi amici del nuovo secolo perché non voleva che il suo amico d’infanzia venisse arrestato, eppure è pronto ad abbandonarlo in un mondo che non gli appartiene per una storia d’amore morta e sepolta.

E non solo sta abbandonando il suo migliore amico di sempre, ma sta lasciando indietro tutti i suoi nuovi amici e la sua nuova famiglia… per di più in lutto.

Inoltre Steve sa che mentre lui sta vivendo la sua storia d’amore, l’Hydra sta torturando e facendo il lavaggio del cervello a Bucky. Un po’ insensibile, non è vero, Steve?

 

3 ) Non è giusto nei confronti di Peggy

Peggy Carter ha vissuto la sua vita dopo la “morte” di Steve. È andata avanti, come racconta in parte la serie tv “Agent Carter”: è stata direttrice dello S.H.I.E.L.D., ha avuto marito e figli.

E ne parla lei stessa in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, quando dice a Steve “Io ho vissuto la mia vita, il mio unico rimpianto è che tu non abbia potuto vivere la tua.”. Questa battuta dimostra che Peggy era soddisfatta della vita che ha vissuto, nonostante Steve non ne avesse fatto parte.

Sempre nel secondo film della trilogia, Peggy dice che “Nessuno di noi può tornare indietro, a volte la cosa migliore che possiamo fare è ricominciare da capo.”. Questa battuta nel quarto film degli Avengers viene totalmente rinnegata… nonostante venga usata in uno dei trailer per il film.

In Avengers: Endgame, il forte e determinato personaggio di Peggy Carter è stato trasformato in un mero premio per Steve ed è stato dato alla Carter unicamente il ruolo di love interest del capitano, quando lei è molto più di questo.

 

Molti fan di lunga data di Steve Rogers hanno avuto l’impressione che la conclusione della storia del Capitano non sia stata coerente con la natura del personaggio e che abbia lasciato troppe domande e poche risposte.
