La forza di Ashley, Jeanlay e Alma: storia di una famiglia giovanissima

Ogni anno moltissime adolescenti rimangono incinta in Italia.

Data la giovane età, per la paura di prendersi delle responsabilità e di essere giudicate, alcune future mamme decidono di abortire, dare in adozione il bambino oppure semplicemente “nasconderlo” alla società .

Ma questo non è il caso di Ashley, una giovanissima e bellissima ragazza di 18 anni della provincia di Varese che da un anno e mezzo è fidanzata con Jeanlay (17 anni).

Quando stavano insieme da 7 mesi (Ashley aveva 17 anni e Jean 16) hanno scoperto che sarebbero diventati genitori. Si sono presi le loro responsabilità e ora, da 3 mesi, sono mamma e papà di Alma Belèn e sono felicissimi!

Hanno sempre condiviso immagini e pensieri positivi sui social. Oggi Ashley ha accettato di raccontare tutta la sua gravidanza in maniera più dettagliata, facendo trasparire ogni sua emozione:

Cosa significa essere mamma per te?
È davvero difficile da spiegare… Posso solo dire che è un insieme di emozioni, senti un amore diverso, mai sentito prima. La parola mamma è sinonimo di responsabilità, premura, attenzione, protezione. Per me essere mamma significa anche imparare, giocare, sorridere, amare, sognare, correggere, disciplinare, sgridare, dare forza e animo, piangere, insegnare… Essere madre ti rende fiera. Ti sprona a dare il massimo per far sì che tua figlia abbia il meglio per poter essere un giorno orgogliosi di lei.

Molte ragazze hanno paura di dirlo, tu come e quando lo hai detto alla tua famiglia e a Jeanlay di esse incinta?
Sono cresciuta praticando il cristianesimo secondo il rito evangelico. A 15 anni, però, ho deciso di allontanarmi da tutto ciò. Mi sono fatta la mia vita,  ho frequentato alcuni ragazzi fino a quando ho conosciuto Jean. Per mettermi con lui ho chiesto il permesso a mia madre, che mi ha detto di sì dato che sapeva che, altrimenti, l’avrei fatto comunque. Ci siamo fidanzati e i miei ne sono stati messi al corrente.
In quel momento, io prendevo la pillola anticoncezionale (dato che soffro della sindrome dell’ovaio policistico) e i miei genitori pensavano che mi stessi proteggendo. Poi, un mese, ho perso le pastiglie a Milano e non ci siamo più Protetti. A un certo punto, io ho sentito che era successo qualcosa e sapevo di essere incinta.
Abbiamo comperato il test ma nulla, il risultato era negativo. Un giorno mentre ero a casa di Jean a mangiare mi è venuta la nausea, una nausea strana, diversa. Ho deciso di non ricomprare il secondo test perchè sarebbe stato uno spreco di soldi dato che la settimana dopo avrei avuto la visita ginecologica periodica. Il giorno della visita la ginecologa decise di controllarmi anche il ventre. Mia madre disse: «ci manca Ashley solo che sei incinta!» Mentre controllava la ginecologa esclamò: «oh oh fanciulla, qua c’è una gravidanza!» Mia mamma era incredula, credeva che scherzasse. Prima che la dottoressa lo dicesse io lo sapevo già dentro di me e pensavo no, non è possibile sono troppo giovane. Ma quando ho visto l’ecografia mi sono innamorata perdutamente e ho cominciato a proteggere la mia pancia come non mai. All’esterno c’era mio padre. Mia madre mi ha detto di non dirglielo subito se no gli sarebbe venuto un infarto. Ma lui aveva capito che c’era qualcosa che non andava. Quando mi ha chiesto cosa stessa succedendo, io gli ho detto la verità. La sua risposta mi spiazzò, dato che disse che già lo sapeva e che era felice di diventare nonno.

I miei genitori mi hanno sostenuto fin dall’inizio. Finito tutto siamo andati a casa di Jean a parlare con i suoi e per dirlo a lui. Erano tutti felici di avere una nipotina e Jean è rimasto a bocca aperta e mi ha abbracciato. Noi eravamo senza parole, non siamo mai stati tristi. Tutto quello che stava succedendo era qualcosa di wow!

Il rapporto con i tuoi genitori è cambiato, il tuo ragazzo ti è sempre stato accanto?
Il rapporto con i miei genitori è migliorato molto, purtroppo non tutti hanno la mia fortuna di avere una famiglia che appoggia nonostante tutto. Prima di avere Alma con mia mamma avevo un rapporto completamente distaccato, le combinavo di tutto e di più, la facevo disperare. Molte volte non l’ascoltavo, facevo di testa mia e addirittura le mancavo di rispetto. Però da quando è nata Alma è tutto cambiato, lei è stata fondamentale in questo tragitto della mia vita. Siamo diventate migliore amiche, c’è stata in ogni momento ad appoggiarmi e penso che sia la cosa giusta che una madre debba fare.

Jean… Jean è il ragazzo della mia vita. Io credo nell’amore e so che lui è stato creato per me. Lo amo da impazzire, c’è sempre stato e ha sopportato ogni mio capriccio fin dal principio. Vedo i suoi sforzi ogni giorno per dare il meglio e devo dire che nonostante la sua età mi ha dimostrato di essere molto più maturo di altre persone. Non potevo desiderare di meglio! Si è comportato da uomo e dal primo momento si è messo i pantaloni prendendosi completamente le sue responsabilità. Purtroppo oggigiorno sono pochi quelli che si prendono le proprie responsabilità… ma voglio dire una cosa alle ragazze che stanno continuando la loro gravidanza da sole: «siate forti, non lasciatevi abbattere e ricordatevi sempre che l’uomo non fa la donna!»

Hai dovuto rinunciare a qualcosa e fare dei sacrifici per Alma?
Penso che le madri che dicono che i figli limitino i propri sogni sia una grande “cavolata” dato che sono proprio loro stesse che si mettono dei limiti. Quando non avevo Alma non mi interessa per niente la scuola, il mio futuro, i miei sogni, continuare a cantare… Vivevo alla giornata. Poi, incinta al terzo mese, mi sono chiesta quale futuro avrei voluto dare a mia figlia. Come facevo a farle credere nei sogni se io stessa non ne avevo mai realizzato neanche uno? Così ho deciso di continuare ad andare in chiesa per il bene della famiglia che stavo facendo crescere. È vero, i figli ti prendono molto tempo, ma ti dovrebbero far sognare più in grande. Ora non sogno più solo per me stessa ma anche per lei. Poi per ogni cosa c’è anche bisogno di un po’ di organizzazione, non è facile ma tutto è possibile se ci si impegna.

Ti sei mai sentita giudicata?
Purtroppo sì (non mi aspettavo degli applausi da parte di nessuno ovviamente) ma oggigiorno la ragazza che decide di continuare con la gravidanza è più giudicata di quella che prende una decisione diversa… Addirittura davanti ai miei occhi mi sono dovuta sentir dire che dovevo abortire, che sono stata un’ immatura per la mia decisione e che mi sono rovinata il futuro. C’è stata gente che mi ha derisa dato che non aspettava altro che di vedermi cadere… Non posso dire che sia stato facile sentirsi dire queste cose, ma il male di queste parole non potranno mai superare l’amore verso mia figlia.

Nessuno è perfetto, nemmeno io… Colui che mi poteva giudicare ha voluto avere misericordia verso di me.

Cos’hai provato la prima volta che l’hai tenuta in braccio?
Mi ricordo perfettamente quel momento. Ho avuto all’incirca 36 ore di travaglio quindi non ero riuscita a dormire. Poche ore prima di entrare in sala parto avevo vomitato tutto ciò che avevo mangiato e , per un momento, ho sentito di non avere più forze. A un certo punto la dottoressa mi aveva detto ti toccare la testa di Alma per farmi capire che mancava poco, quando l’ho toccata ho capito che dovevo mettercela tutta! Ho spinto per un’ultima volta e ho sentito un piccolo pianto… Era mia figlia. Mi sono lasciata andare a un pianto liberatorio, come non avevo mai pianto. Me l’hanno appoggiata sul petto ma stavo piangendo così tanto che non la vedevo nemmeno. Sentivo solo la sua pelle morbidissima sulla mia. Anche se non l’avevo vista, tutto in quel momento era così perfetto che ho guardato in lacrime il mio ragazzo e gli ho detto: «È bellissima amore, è la bambina più bella!»

Tornassi indietro rifaresti tutte le scelte che hai fatto?
Riguardo ad Alma rifarei tutto, lei è diventata la mia forza. Certe volte avrei preferito aspettare ma solo per il semplice motivo che le avrei voluto dare molto di più. Vorrei essere  una mamma completamente indipendente ma purtroppo non lo sono. Sto facendo di tutto per esserlo e anche più velocemente possibile… Di lei non me ne pento proprio.

Infine avresti dei consigli per le giovani ragazze in attesa?
Consiglierei di stare tranquille, di non preoccuparsi troppo e di godersi questo momento  perché è qualcosa di unico e speciale… Tutto andrà per il meglio perché è proprio l’istinto materno che ti farà migliorare sempre di più . Voglio dir loro di essere forti e coraggiose, di lasciar perdere ogni cosa negativa soprattutto se sono in gravidanza.
